Meet the Principal
Dr Ian PM Lambert
BA, MA, PhD, MACE
As the son of a Scots Old Boy, I am privileged to have been loved, encouraged and challenged by a man whose life was informed by deeply held values, inspiring traditions and a rich learning culture.
My father's life-long enjoyment of adventure, camaraderie and striving for excellence together has inspired and motivated our family.
Since 1893, The Scots College's traditions and culture have nurtured an acute sense of humility, service and compassion based on Christian values. To this day, my father continues to live by these values, to demonstrate leadership, character, spirit, a steely determination and work ethic that values effort over station.
I now find myself honoured to be the Principal of The Scots College and to be charged with the responsibility of raising fine Scots men for generations to come.
At the heart of this quest, is my steadfast belief in the great potential of young men.
I believe by honouring the learning and adventures of boys we can provide opportunities to extend boys to fully realise their inner strengths and resources, providing a platform from which they can flourish in life.
A Scots education is designed to help prepare our boys to be men of stature and substance who will generously lead, learn and serve in the world in which they live.
Leadership, Character, Spirit - as Principal and custodian of a school with such a long and distinguished record, my challenge is to ensure that these intrinsic elements resonate richly in the hearts and minds of every Scots boy.
