Boarding
The boarding environment at Scots provides a secure and supportive community for around 200 boys. The students are supported to develop their full potential academically, physically, socially and spiritually.
Scots boarders participate fully in the academic, cultural and sporting life of the College. They regularly appear on the honour rolls of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and take positions of leadership within the College. The boarding community makes a significant contribution to all areas of College life, and is highly valued by staff and fellow students alike.
- Boarders live in one of five boarding houses and enjoy individual living and study space within dormitories. Year 12 boarders receive single room accommodation. A fresh and nutritious menu is developed by the College catering staff.
- Each house provides after hours academic support and supervised homework. There is a range of facilities for relaxation including pool tables and DVDs.
- Each house is staffed by a resident Housemaster (whose family also live in), a Matron and five Tutors.
- All staff are trained in pastoral care and child safety. The primary responsibility of the Housemaster is your son's happiness, safety and welfare and he is always available to provide guidance and support
- The College has a fully equipped 24 hour clinic staffed by registered nurses.
- The Boarder Association, comprised of parents from each House, meets once a term to discuss boarding issues, and acts as a voice for the boarding parent body.
International community
The boarding community comprises international students from many countries. The majority come from China and Korea but other countries of origin include Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and to a lesser degree Papua New Guinea, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, Vanuatu, Vietnam, United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
