Scots 1st XV Win Oasis Cup
Scots 1 st XV have won the 2010 Oasis Cup, winning by 27 to 6, on a day where all Scots teams excelled on the pitch. The fixtures proved once again that Scots is at the forefront of schoolboy rugby, with each of the teams involved in Saturday's matches against Cranbrook seeing impressive wins.
The annual charity event, commonly referred to as the 'Battle of the Hill', was attended by hundreds of parents, staff, students and friends of the College who helped cheer the boys on to a well deserved victory.
In one of the most hotly contested battles of the rugby calendar, it was particularly satisfying for Scots to deny the old rival any chance of crossing the try line, which was testament to some excellent Scots defence, especially out wide where wingers Joel Reardon and Harry Seymour skilfully contained any threat from their opposition.
In true 'Battle of the Hill' tradition, parents ran a barbeque and sold a range of homemade cakes to raise money for Oasis; a charity that supports homeless and disadvantaged young people. Sales from the day raised an incredible $5,000 for the cause.
